Group Run Flop

The group run I organized turned out to be a bit smaller than I anticipated. My friend I regularly run with and 2 others showed. I was hoping for around 10 people at least...oh well!

We ran 7 and stayed close to 8:15 pace the entire way, finishing in under 58 minutes. I felt good - got a little pushback from my body during miles 6 and 7 but the "group" kept me going. I am confident that I could hold that pace for longer and I will try to do so in an upcoming run :) Since I would like to hold 8 or just under during the Monumental, I am going to have to push myself more in training!

This run pushed me to 30.5 miles on the week - my highest mileage yet! I might do a few miles tomorrow evening, but nothing much. I have a bike race Saturday morning that I need to be ready for!

We took Kenda to the dog park. She ran so much! We got to see her gazelle leaps multiple times (she cleared 2 beagles in a single bound). It is fun when she does that. All the people at the park "ooooh" and "ahhhh" over her, which I believe she understands and therefore continues to do it (for the attention). They say stuff like, "There's the athlete of the group," or "She looks like a deer!" We are just so proud of our little girl :)
