Yes, I fudge the date sometimes

It is September 12th at 10:42PM as I am writing this. I will post this tonight. It will be marked September 12. BUT if I wrote about tonight's run tomorrow, I would alter the post date to say September 12th. Follow me? I don't know why, I guess I am a little compulsive about some things. I want each post to appear as though it was written on the day of the workout described within it.

If you read my blog on any type of consistent basis, first of all, thank you. The number of page views per day being over 5 makes my day :) Next, I have put up a few posts today (all marked different dates) and I want you to be aware so you can read them if you are interested. There is one with a bunch of pictures of food - start there.

Onto tonight's workout. 6 miles with my co-worker. We changed at work and ran from the office on the Monon. We averaged 8:12 pace :) I felt pretty good overall. We didn't talk too much, but the presence of someone else drove me to run just a little bit harder and during mile 4 when I hit a slight wall, I was motivated to keep it up because of my running mate. It was warm again, but I welcomed it. We finished in just under 49 minutes. I will so take that.

I have a bike race that I will not really prepare for on Saturday morning. It is a time trial style 6 mile race. I hope to average around 20mph. If I did this race back when I was training for Little 500, I could probably average 25-26 without a problem. I was beastly. It was awesome.

Then the following Saturday I have my 5 mile race in the Indianapolis Corporate Challenge (the bike race is part of the Corporate Challenge as well). I am proudly representing my company, Aprimo. I did the 5 mile last year and did ok (without training at all), but I have pretty high hopes for this year. I'm basically going to try to slaughter these 5 miles (at least slaughter in my terms). Meaning about a 7:30 pace. I do not know if I can do it, but I am going to try. I would like to be in the top 10 women to finish the 5 mile race and also the first woman to finish in my company's division (I believe there are 4-5 divisions, depending on the size of your company). Of course I will post detailed race reports. What kind of training blog would this be without race reports?

Going for a 31 mile week to get back in the swing of things. I am off to a great start with 19 done in 3 days :)

Goodnight! (10:58PM, September 12)
