This month I took 8 days off (up 2 from the 6 days off in August), but my mileage was up by almost 40 miles. Ifso facto, I will overlook the days off. I completed only 3 strength/core workouts during the month of August, down from 12 in July. This has to improve. I will focus on this area moving forward in September.
My most confidence boosting run this month was on 8/26. Read about it here.
September holds some new challenges and tests. I will continue to up my long run. 10 miles will come in September and I am nervous excited for that distance. I will compete in the Indianapolis Corporate Challenge 5 mile race with the goal of a 7:30/mile pace. And, of course, I will up the miles. I hope the cooler weather of September will allow for more speed and faster recovery. Running in the fall brings back good memories :)
At the end of the last roundup I included my weight loss update. I started on July 1 at 154.6 lbs, weighed in at 151.0 lbs on August 1st, and dropped below 150 to 149.6 for my September 1st weigh in. Exactly 5 pounds lost in exactly 2 months. Honestly, I am not trying to lose weight. It is just a product of the running. I eat whatever I want, which probably needs to stop (ha). It does feel nice to put on some pants that used to be tight and have them fit. Once I shape up my diet a little more, we'll see what happens...
*Sorry for the interruption, back to the normal blogging, which I am enjoying very much :)
